If you’d like to pay us a visit
We’d love to see you. And there’s a host of things you can do… trekking, fishing, horse riding, bird watching, swimming, exploring or simply communing with nature. You’ll be pleased to know that even for clean, green New Zealand, our environment is something special. We’re free of pests and pollution — and the scenery is just stunning. For accommodation, there’s the newly refurbished and fully self-contained Awapiko Lodge. There are two large bedrooms and a spacious kitchen/dining room, plus a smaller room for extra guests who don’t mind roughing it a bit. We can also provide a variety of tents, including a 6-metre dome tent. And way out in the bush is a mountain hut where you can really get away from it all.
Within just an hour or two’s drive, there’s lots more. Beautiful, unspoiled beaches, Lake Waikaremoana (Sea of Rippling Waters), the gem of the magnificent Te Urewera National Park, wineries, Maori Maraes, surfing, kayaking, scenic flights… You name it!
And when you’re ready to meet people there’s Gisborne — our regional capital and New Zealand’s latest cruise ship destination — small in size but big on attractions. Check out our Links page for more.
If you’re looking to invest
You’re in luck! We’re just starting out, and we offer investment opportunities aplenty. Down by the Hangaroa River we have the perfect spot to build a hotel, restaurant and/or vacation villas. We’re also planting forestry — not the regular pine plantations — and an experimental vineyard. And we’re planning to develop the Awapiko Brand™ as a special symbol for quality local products, arts and crafts, furniture, fashion and more.
If you’re interested in research
So are we. Specifically we’re keen to research Viktor Schauberger’sideas on water, forestry and soils, and are looking for qualified people with similar interests. We can also make available lots of space for other research projects. Contact us and let’s discuss it.
If organic farming is your thing
We’d like to meet you. We believe organic is the way to go and we’re looking for people, especially with practical experience, to help. WWOOFers are welcome too.
